Notes for next Wednesday's testMonday- We discussed an acrostic poem of "REVOLUTION", brainstorming activity on terms related to the American Revolution, and a Venn diagram comparing the British soldiers to colonial soldiers.
Tuesday- We discussed the Articles of Confederation, Shay's Rebellion, and the Northwest Ordinance.
Wednesday- We discussed the Constitutional Convention, the Preamble, and the Constitution. Students will say or sing the Preamble to me next Thursday.
Thursday- We discussed national government responsibilities/powers verses state government responsibilities/powers.
Friday- We discussed the Three Branches of Government and our country's system of checks and balances. We will have a test on this next Wednesday. The test will include 15 questions that students will either label "L" for Legislative Branch, "E" for Executive Branch, and "J" for Judicial Branch. There will also be a discussion question worth 25 points. "We have a system of checks and balances among the three branches of government. Explain."
