The fifth grade is going to see a play, Annie, on Friday. We will be traveling to Maddox, and we will leave around 8:30. We should return around 10:45. There is no cost.

Your child can study for Friday's spelling test by playing games on www.spellingcity.com. Your child knows how to log into the site.

This Blog

As of April 1, the students will be able to take home their iPad, and I will not be posting on this blog. All reminders and information will be found on Edmodo, and your child can access it from their iPad or on a computer. Please get your child to explain how we are using Edmodo at school.

Homework Tonight

1. Study for Thursday's 9 weeks science test. We will be studying during the entire class time tomorrow, but it will help to be familiar with the information. If I were studying tonight, I would: a. check to see if I could name the 6 states of matter, b. see if I could tell the difference between matter, atoms, and molecules, c. sing Jacky's rap, d. list 5 physical changes and 5 chemical changes, e. tell the difference between potential and kinetic energy, f. look at the forms of energy pictures you drew and read through the definitions, and g. give 4 examples of acids and 4 examples of bases (sing the song if you need). 2. Study for Friday's spelling test. 3. Read in your A.R. book. Make sure you will have your points by 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Science 9 Weeks Test

Your child will need to study tonight, tomorrow night, and Wednesday night for Thursday's nine weeks test in my room. Last Thursday, we put a study guide in our notebook. Today, we used Edmodo to answer 5 questions about Acids and Bases, used colorful sheets with definitions to review Forms of Energy, sang Jacky's rap to review Acids and Bases, and more.

1. Make sure to remind your parents that tomorrow is Spring Picture Day and Cap and Gown Picture Day. 2. Make sure your science and social studies notebooks are ready for your notebook test tomorrow. 3. Finish anything you need to from your classes today.
